A new beginning

Most age groups have completed their season schedules. Nationals have crowned champions at U 15, U 17 U 19 and U 23 levels. School prems. are in the immediate future.

What is left? A whole new world wrapped up in the year 2015. Don't wait for 1st January to make resolutions. Now is the time to think about goals achieved and missed. What must be mastered to make the coming year match expectations? What worked and what did not work? What do we need to do more of and what do we need to do less of. What are the latest trends and what is being rejected. Three man weaves are out. When does anyone see this movement is a game? Never! A new thought is that practice time spent on the free throw line only build a poor self image reinforced with failure. Everyone knows that free throws can win games but is there a better way to practice this skill? We need to start thinking!

So what is the plan? 2015 should mean improving basics. Can we dribble out of a press? Can we make ourselves available to receive a pass when closely guarded? Can we make a pass to a closely guarded player? Can we time a cut? Wow, that is a pretty impressive list of questions. How many are we going to put down on our "to do" list. and honestly say in 12 months that we have mastered these skills?
